Israeli exports of homeland security equipment will hit $300 million in 2005

Israeli exports of homeland security equipment will hit $300 million this year, up 22% per year since 2002, according to the estimates of Dan Inbar, Chairman and CTO of Homeland Security Research Corp. (HSRC), a Washington, DC based, consultancy and research firm.

The global trade in antiterror gear and consulting services is expected to grow from $46 billion to $178 billion by 2015.

Inbar forecast quoted in a new Forbes Magazine article, “Get Smart”, that concluded that Israel has emerged as the go-to country for antiterrorism technologies.

 

The article mention the innovating technologies of eight Israeli companies: Corner Shot, Camero, Controp Precision Technologies, Netline Communications Technologies, I-SEC Technologies, Laser Detect Systems, Suspect Detection Systems and Bio-Sense Technologies.

NICE Systems buy FAST Video Security for approximately $21 million

NICE Systems has agreed to acquire FAST Video Security AG, a Swiss-based developer of innovative video systems for security and surveillance purposes, for approximately $21 million in cash. The deal, expected to close in early 2006, includes an additional $12 million based on performance milestones, payable over the next three years.

 

FAST will be integrated into NiceVision division of NICE, and become part of NICE’s strategic offering of services, products and solutions for the digital video security market. NICE and FAST will offer an extended portfolio of video products and solutions covering the entire digital video spectrum of video transmission/networking, management, recording and analysis.

 

The acquisition of FAST is expected to add $10 million to NICE's top-line in 2006, increasing the company's revenues guidance to $365-$373 million.
