ioIMAGE to Showcase Intelligent Video Solutions at the Texas Instruments Developer Conference
ioIMAGE, a leading provider of intelligent video security solutions, will showcase its new Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320DM642 digital media processor-based products as a sponsor at the North American Texas Instruments Developer Conference (TIDC) 2006.
ioIMAGE has achieved application intensive, video threat detection technology with digital media and multi security task capabilities in a compact hardware unit using the high-speed TI DM642 digital media processor. Using this DSP, ioIMAGE units convert analog surveillance camera signals into network streaming MPEG-4 video, data and audio as well as analyze video for multiple security scenarios.
The ioIMAGE unit can simultaneously detect intruders, suspicious baggage, illegally parked cars and removed items. In addition, TI's DM642 digital media processor supports execution of spatial vision-logic that commands pan/tilt/zoom cameras to perform autonomous tracking.

SuperCom introduced a new RF technology for active tracking of people and assets
Israeli provider of smart card and electronic identification (e-ID) solutions, SuperCom, introduced a new movement detection solution, called Pure RF. The new technology expands Supercom’s Homeland Security offerings through a wireless asset tracking system for strategic and high value items.
The software and hardware solution employs small, low-powered RF tags attached to an object or a person. License-free radio bands are used to track the RF band from a base transmitter that is programmable for periodic or event-driven transmissions. Pure RF can monitor and locate tagged items through a hand-held tracking device, which can also be integrated into cellular phones.

Ortek Completes an $8 million project of peripheral coastal security system installation
Ortek, the homeland security house of the Elbit Systems Group, completed deployment of its first Peripheral Coastal Security system for a customer in Asia. Ortek's contract for the project is estimated at approximately $8 million.
The deployment of the system is the first stage of the project, which also includes deployment of Peripheral Coastal Security systems at additional locations in the customer's country.
The Coastal Security system is remote controlled and allows its operators to automatically track a large number of vessels simultaneously, for dozens of miles, using its identification capabilities to send alerts regarding any type of threat those vessels may pose.
Ortek's Coastal Security system is based on Elbit Systems' capabilities as well as on advanced night vision sensors, daylight surveillance and laser rangefinders developed by Elbit Systems Electro-Optics ELOP. The system's surveillance, monitoring and control capabilities allow processing of online data received simultaneously from numerous surveillance pods.
