Merkavim deploys ioimage intelligent video for preventing scrap metal theft

Transport vehicle manufacturers, Merkavim, is deploying ioimage Surveillance Camera System to enhance its loss-prevention program in order to prevent scrap metal theft and unauthorized removal of materials from the factory site.

The outdoor surveillance camera is to protect the 100,000 square-meter Israel assembly plant. ioIMAGE units enable dozens of pan-tilt-zoom and stationary video surveillance cameras to automatically detect and autonomously track intruders and threats. The system seamlessly integrates with the existing loss prevention program to provide comprehensive physical-security in and around the site.

“Whether it’s street signs, utility power substations, telephone wires, metal bridges, or entire train cars, scrap metal theft has emphasized the problem of protecting widespread outdoor items that fetch scrap metal value.,” said Roni Kass, ioIMAGE’s CEO. “Merkavim is joining a growing number of companies that benefit from our high performance easy-to-use systems that are ideal for homeland security programs as well as for commercial applications, detecting trespassing, theft and vandalism.”
