Substance detection firm IDenta begins marketing new explosive detection kits
Substance Detection Firm IDenta has started marketing and shipping its new explosive detection kits. IDenta's new detectors are able to detect the full range of the well-known types of military, commercial and the homemade explosives. Sample detection kits has shipped to representatives in a number of countries including France, Hungary, China, and the US.
IDenta's new detectors are able to detect the full range of the well-known types of military, commercial and the homemade explosives including: TNT/PETN, RDX/NITRATE, UREA NITRATE, AMMONIUM NITRATE, TATP/HMTD, and CHLORATE/BROMATE.
TATP, Ammonium Nitrate, and UREA NITRATE are particularly extremely dangerous compounds which have caused massive destruction of property, and loss of life in the hands of terrorist organizations. Recently three tons of Ammonium Nitrate were captured in Canada which were expected to be used by terrorists from Al-Qaida.
IDenta also has developed an innovative detector which can detect whether a substance is Cocaine/Crack or the white powder of TATP.

Detex to develop the next generation of Milliscope technology for plastic explosives detection
Security solutions developing company, Detex Security Systems, has begun the reengineering and development of the second generation of its Milliscope technology. The Next Generation Milliscope will have the ability to detect contraband and plastic explosives using dual sensors for increased sensitivity that will greatly reduce false alarms and ensure extreme accuracy.
Detex intends to develop and convert its newly acquired Milliscope prototype into a fully functioning explosives screening device to be manufactured and distributed globally. The new prototype is expected to be demonstrated by the company in October 2006. The Milliscope uses proprietary millimetric wave technology to rapidly and accurately detect plastic explosives such as Semtex and C-4, conventional explosives such as TNT, and other contraband such as metal and non-metal weapons and illegal drugs.
Detex (formerly Royal Sunmark Energy Corp.), located in Israel, currently has 12 full-time employees and is headed by Gabriel Bitton, a Senior Metallurgical Engineer who previously headed sales and marketing for British Oxygen worldwide. Earlier this year, Detex has acquired all of the explosives detection technology from Intelligent Industrial Systems Research, Ltd. which includes a functioning prototype device.

Scent Detection Technologies raised $5 million in from Sequoia Capital
Scent Detection Technologies (SDT), a provider of low-cost trace detection sensors and mobile hand-held "sniffing" devices, has received $5 million in strategic investments from Sequoia Capital. This is SDT's second round of funding, following the Israel Military Industries Ltd. (IMI) investment of $2.5 million.
SDT expects to launch its first product, the Mini-Nose for explosives trace detection in the second quarter of 2006. The Mini-Nose is a portable, highly sensitive, non-invasive device capable of trace and particle detection. The Mini-Nose is addressing the needs of the following market niches: aviation security, military, police, border-control, federal buildings, mass transit, prisons, ports, and courts.
